The world may be your oyster, but the oysters are her world.
A shellfish fanatic alarmed her followers on social media after inhaling 70 oysters in one sitting for breakfast, as seen in an inspiring TikTok video with over 33 million views.
“Can I eat 70 oysters for breakfast?” teased user Georgiana in the clip’s caption. The German food influencer, who lives in London, often shares her epicurean experiences to her 400,000+ followers on the platform.
Previously, Georgiana even sat down to 50 and 60 in separate sessions, but none of those banquets compared to the latest feat of extreme eating.
The self-proclaimed “oyster girl” decided to complete the clam marathon at the Wright Brothers Battersea Power Station restaurant in London.
She ordered the Mount Everest-evoking shellfish to take advantage of the warehouse’s £1 ($1.25) oyster deal, which is available Saturday and Sunday mornings per clip, as well as during happy hour. Monday through Friday.
After downing the inaugural mollusk, the veritable Joey of Shellfish Chestnut then indecently gobbled up the other 69 in seemingly rapid succession.
She even made sure to christen every salty bite in Tabasco and lemon juice.
At the end of the party, the TikTokker called the two-valve bonanza “the best breakfast of my entire life.”
The viewers were shocked.
Some users were concerned that she might be playing digestive Russian roulette by eating so much raw shellfish at once.
“Isn’t it bad for someone to eat more than 12-15 oysters?” One was concerned, while another wrote: “Beastie, that’s over 2000mg of magnesium.”
“I love oysters, but this would make me so sick,” said a third. “I’d also worry about the higher odds of picking up a parasite from so many in one sitting.”
While oysters boast plenty of nutritional goodness — including zinc, vitamin B12 and more — eating too many can increase your risk of ingesting food-borne germs like Vibrio bacteria, according to Healthline.
However, the risk of contracting the latter pathogen is extremely rare, experts say.
In December, more than 80 people got sick from oysters after a possible norovirus outbreak while feasting on top restaurants hailed by the Los Angeles Times.
In June, the US Food and Drug Administration warned seafood lovers to avoid shellfish from Oregon and Washington State over concerns that they may be contaminated with toxins that cause paralytic shellfish poisoning, which can be deadly.
